Warning Signs

During your case presentation or afterwards, have you or your staff observed any of the following?

Patients or their parents:

  • Say they understand, but then don't start VT.
  • Seem unconvinced VT is needed despite all the evidence.
  • Seem blank, confused or have that "deer in the headlights" look.
  • Make negative statements such as: "We'll only do this if insurance will pay for it," or "We can't afford it!" (then they get their child braces shortly afterwards).
  • Become angry or suspicious.
  • Appear impatient, disinterested or bored.
  • Ask for research that proves VT works.
  • Seek a second opinion from an M.D.
  • Delay treatment with no starting date in sight.
  • Start VT but quit as soon as they find out that insurance doesn't cover it.
  • Say they will do VT if insurance covers it, then don't start, even though insurance does cover it.
  • Lack follow-through with home activities.
  • Rarely, if ever, refer anyone to your office.

If any of these apply to you, or if you just want to increase your number of VT Patients, request a free consultation. We are here to help you achieve your practice goals.
